Rule of Law Program - Justice and Enforcement

West Bank and Gaza 2005 - 2010

DPK is providing technical assistance to build respect for and adherence to the rule of law by professionalizing the formal justice sector. The DPK team is expanding the capacity of the Ministry of Justice for administrative and financial management, strategic planning, and policy formulation. DPK is providing training and expert assistance to upgrade the skills and empower court administrators, especially court processors. The program is also working to improve the enforcement of laws and court decisions, primarily through strengthening enforcement units within courts, building police capacity and willingness to work with the judiciary to enforce decisions, and working with civil society to increase public understanding and compliance with laws. The team is also seeking to increase adherence to law by Palestinian Authority bodies and other public and private entities.
