Judicial Reform Implementation Project

Macedonia 2007 - 2010

DPK Consulting implemented the new USAID Judicial Reform Implementation Project (JRIP) in Macedonia. As a follow-on program to DPK's highly successful Macedonia Court Modernization Program, DPK further assisted the judiciary and justice system in implementing the methodologies and processes required to create a modern, efficient, and transparent judiciary.

Assistance included increasing core court capacities in case processing and reducing delay, further development of legal frameworks and resulting restructuring of judicial operations, improving fiscal management and budgeting for the courts, and increasing the capacity of the Academy for Training of Judges and Public Prosecutors (ATJ) to provide training and effectively manage training programs. Additional assistance provided by the DPK team included further introduction of case management software, modern court security systems, verbatim recording equipment, and other court materials upgrades as needed. Support provided under this program helped the Macedonian judiciary meet their goals of increased harmonization with the EU system.
